If outdoor adventures are your thing, there are several locations that might interest you
west of the convention hotel. Take Madona Road 3/4 mile sout the Los Osos Valley Road, and then 8 miles west to arrive at the Los Osos Oaks State Reserve. Here you will find an oak forest with a hiking trail.
Traveling another ¾ mile west then turning right on South Bay Blvd and traveling north 1.4 miles then west on Santa Ysabel then right on 16th street will get you to the El Moro Elfin Forest – a pygmy oak forest overlooking Morro Bay.
